The Buck Brothers // Chapter 14

GAH! The last chpater!!! Wow! I can't believe I've made it to the end!! Ready? GO! Chapter 14 Tex sat against the wall starring blankly into space, twisting his hands together. Luke watched him from his blankets. "He's worried, isn't he?" Pauline asked leaning close to Luke's ear. Luke nodded. "Hey, Tex?" He asked quietly. Tex looked up. "Yeah?" "Are you okay?" "I'm fine. Just trying to find away to get out of here," Tex said, running a hand over his hair and down his neck. "Come up with any plans?" Pauline asked. "Nope." He leaned his head back with another sigh of frustration. "What about your brothers and Ben? I'll bet they'll try and find us." Pauline suggested. Tex nodded. With a smirk he commented to Luke, "Remember the trouble maker during the war? I told you about him. We met him again, when we came after you. He came along with us to h...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 13

Time for Chapter 13. Guess what! There's only one more chapter after this!!! *hops up and down then cries* Chapter 13 Tex sat by Luke's side in silent prayer. He had been over and over the room, looking for a loose board or any other way out. He found none and even if he did find away out, Luke was to sick to move.  Tex turn at a quiet sob. Pauline had pulled her knees to her face and was crying quietly against them, rocking gently back and forth. Tex tried to think of something to say but couldn't find the words. So, he just reached out and patted her hand.  Pauline looked up and wiped her eyes on her selves. "I'm sorry. It just seams so... so..."  "I'm sorry you got dragged into this." Tex apologized. "I promise, I will try my hardest to get you out of here. God willing, I'll succeed."  "Thank you. I don't know you well but I trust you. I know you will do your best." Pauline whispered. "It's...

The Buck Brothers// Chapter 12

Ready? Time for our story to continue! Chapter 12 "Mind if I ask you something?" Ben asked from across the table at Lady Marge's. "Not at all, Ben." Tom put down his small black Bible. "You and your brothers are always talking about God." Ben hesitated as if trying to find the right words. "I... Do you really believe all that stuff?" Tom nodded. "We do."  "I use to go to church," Ben said. "I left though. It didn't make seance to me. I mean, you have to do so much and be so perfect. It's impossible." "Your right." Tom nodded. Ben looked startled. "Huh? I don't get it. I thought..." "It is impossible. Without Jesus. No one can be perfect. God knows that. That's why he sent Jesus here to earth. To die for our sins. That way, we can be forgiven and live forever with God in heaven."  "I'm afraid I don't remember that much about the Bibl...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 11

SO... last time I put a chapter on, it ended with Luke getting a punch in the stomach. Remember? Now it's time to continue... Chapter 11 Foss went to kick Luke again but Pauline grabbed him around the legs, tripping him.  "Get out of here!" Foss yelled, pushing her off.  Pauline gasped as hands suddenly helped her to her feet. "I'll take care of this," said a familiar voice. Tex pull Foss up by the front of his shirt and smashed a fist into his face. Foss yelled in anger. Tex stepped back to get away from a wild punch and tripped on Foss's placed boot. Tex fell to the ground and before he could get up Foss charged.  Tex placed his elbows firmly on the ground and brought up his boots. They caught Foss in mid charge and sent him flying over Tex's head.  Sploosh! Foss landed in the stream. He scrambled to his feet and turned around glaring at Tex. Oh, God please help Tex! Pauline prayed, her back pressed against the ruff bark of a t...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 10

Time Once again for a chapter of "The Buck Brothers!" Chapter 10 Tex rained in his horse and studied the county around him. No sign that anyone had been through there recently. Either Kid lied or all sign had been erased. Both were likely. Should he have let Hank and Kid go? If he didn't find any sign now, all could be lost. Tex rode on. It was possible they, who ever they were, had killed Luke already. That is want they wanted, wasn't it? The brothers dead. "Lord, please, protect my brother!" Tex prayed aloud. "Give him strength. Show me how to find him." >>>><<<< Pauline stared as the man came forwarded. He held up his hand and opened his mouth as if to say something. He stumbled and fell to his face. He put a hand under him as if trying to rise but fell again to the ground. This time he lay still. Pauline hesitated. Then she slid out of the saddle and ran to the man's side. She knelt down beside him. Caref...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 9

Chapter 9 The Buck brothers stood waiting, hats drawn low. Hank and Kid road into the yard. Hank drew up sharp. He looked from one man to another. Tex tipped his hat back. "Hank, Where's my brother?" His tone was hard and cold. Hank and Kid stared. "Where is my Brother?" Tex demanded again. Hank's eyes held hatred but he said in a friendly tone. "Listen, Mister. I have no idea what your talking about. I don't know you and I don't know anything about your brother." "You know me." Tex stated flatly. "You calling me a liar?" Tex knew what Hank was trying to do and he seen no way around it. Lord, I don't want to have to shoot him! Please give me wisdom. I don't want anyone to get hurt.  He prayed. He looked Hank right in the eye and said, "I asked were my brother is and I'd like an answer." Hank glared at him. "I came here to talk with the Bakers, not some drunk cowhand." "I ...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 8

Time for an other Chapter! Chapter 8 With the Baker boys, Tex, Tom, Chuck, and Ben went through the dark to the surprisingly large bunk house. "You sleep out here too?" Chuck asked. "Yep." Flint was the oldest Baker whom looked very much like his father. "When we were younger we slept on up at the house but as we grew older we moved in here." York opened the door and lead the way inside. Two cow hands looked up from a checkers board made with a log with squares drawn on top. Another one looked up from a bunk were he had been watching the game. The large group entered to bunk house. York grinned as he introduced the Bucks and Ben to the cowhands, "We're going to have quite a party to night." He said. "Sounds like you already had one, senior York," The Mexican on the bunk sat up. "I wish me could of seen that race." "Paul scared us half to death," Robert said throwing himself on to one of the bunks....

The Buck Brothers//Chapter 7

Hey, everyone! Time for another chapter. This is one of my favorite ones! But they all are from here on... Chapter 7 "Seems to be a race." Tex observed the two  riders that suddenly burst from the crowd. Ben grinned. "I bet this is the Baker's place. Their barn burned a few months ago. They're probably have'n a barn raising.  One of those riders is probably one of the Baker kids. Or both of them." "Looks exciting. Let go watch." Chuck suggested. Tom nodded. "We could pitch in on the barn raising. Might get some information." Tex didn't agree right away. He watched the race, the people, and glance around. Considering the possibility that someone down there might be someone who took his bother. It was a good place to dig up some  information, but did they dare let themselves be observed? "Okay. We'll watch." Tex reached down and removed the thong that held his pistol in place. His brother observed the act of ...

The Buck Brothers/ Chapter 6

Hey!!! It's me again! I hope you are all doing good out there! Time for another chapter... ready? Chapter 6 Tex opened his eyes. It was dark but there was a faint glow of light in the distance. His brothers were snoring quietly. A horse pawed the ground.   Tom must a fallen asleep on watch. He stood up and scooped his hat off the sand. He used it to push the wave of hair out of his eyes.  Chuck, or was it Tom, rolled in his sleep. No, it was definitely Chuck. Only Chuck muttered in his sleep.  Tex  leaned over and shook his sleeping brother. "Come on, time to go." Chuck sat up, squinted at the sky, and rolled to his feet. Tex moved over to Tom.  "Tom? Thomas?" Tex sighed and shook his head. He shook Tom harder. "Thomas!"  "Hmm," Tom mumbled.  Chuck laughed. "Get up sleepy head!"  "I'm up." Tom stretched. "I don't think it funny." Tex scooped up his blankets. "A Indian could...
