Book Review // Strength in Measure *spoiler alert*

Book Review // Strength in Measure Strength in Measure By Lakaysha Elizabeth "From inside the door, he heard soft weeping, and his heart seemed to break into peaces at his cousin's grief. He tried to call over her tears, 'I'd give anything. Anything to bring Dick back. I'd ask God to take me instead if I thought it would do any good.'" Strength in Measure I give this book FIVE stars I'm doing this review by the consistent request of my friend, along with the sheer fun of the idea. So, this review may be a little different then all my other reviews, being that I'm going to go into great depth of the story. I will warn you of an spoilers. But, be warned right now, there may be A LOT. *grins* I can't help it, the story is to good not to share and so full of twists and turns not to let out some secret. Anyway, let's being. What the story is about: The story is about a family, the Hayes, but is mostly focused on the eldest daughter, Katie, and...

Thoughts As A Writer and...

I've been writing a lot the last few weeks in my books and story ideas. I've been thinking a lot about where I've come since I started writing, where I want to go, how I want to write, what I want to write, and the struggles of writing. Writing is such a blessing to me. It helps me put aside thoughts of myself and try to put myself in others shoes. It lets me put into words the story I want, the ideas I want, the feeling I want. It's how I paint my world in my head. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I didn't write. *big eyes* It would be really weird and I might go crazy. LOL. When I started writing books it was the settings and romance that I sought to make come alive, but I've gone a little beyond that now. The thing I love most about writing stories is the people. I love to put people in a setting and them make them apart of that setting. The setting comes alive, the person comes alive. The plot is were I love to throw in some hooks. Like real life...

Narnia Tag

Certainly not my normal kind of tag, but I thought it would be fun so let's get to it! Rules 1. Thank the person who nominated you.   Katelyn  tag me for this. Thank you! 2. Rate your degree of "Narnia fanatic" (nostalgic, serious, maniacal) 3. Answer the questions below 4. Tag 5+ bloggers 5. Have fun! Scale of Fanaticism 1. Nostalgic Fanatic: You read the books and/or watched the movies as a child and the word Narnia gives you a warm feeling. 2. Serious Fanatic: You rediscovered the wonder of Narnia after you were older and have read the books and watched the movies. 3. Maniacal Fanatic: You have lived Narnia from childhood, hid in closets on more occasions than is healthy, have read and watched all the movies including the BBC version. I'd call myself a Nostalgic Fanatic: I've read the books as a kid and, just because it was something new and exciting for me, I loved it. The word Narnia doesn't really give me a warm feeling... but I mean, I guess it could......

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 14

GAH! The last chpater!!! Wow! I can't believe I've made it to the end!! Ready? GO! Chapter 14 Tex sat against the wall starring blankly into space, twisting his hands together. Luke watched him from his blankets. "He's worried, isn't he?" Pauline asked leaning close to Luke's ear. Luke nodded. "Hey, Tex?" He asked quietly. Tex looked up. "Yeah?" "Are you okay?" "I'm fine. Just trying to find away to get out of here," Tex said, running a hand over his hair and down his neck. "Come up with any plans?" Pauline asked. "Nope." He leaned his head back with another sigh of frustration. "What about your brothers and Ben? I'll bet they'll try and find us." Pauline suggested. Tex nodded. With a smirk he commented to Luke, "Remember the trouble maker during the war? I told you about him. We met him again, when we came after you. He came along with us to h...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 13

Time for Chapter 13. Guess what! There's only one more chapter after this!!! *hops up and down then cries* Chapter 13 Tex sat by Luke's side in silent prayer. He had been over and over the room, looking for a loose board or any other way out. He found none and even if he did find away out, Luke was to sick to move.  Tex turn at a quiet sob. Pauline had pulled her knees to her face and was crying quietly against them, rocking gently back and forth. Tex tried to think of something to say but couldn't find the words. So, he just reached out and patted her hand.  Pauline looked up and wiped her eyes on her selves. "I'm sorry. It just seams so... so..."  "I'm sorry you got dragged into this." Tex apologized. "I promise, I will try my hardest to get you out of here. God willing, I'll succeed."  "Thank you. I don't know you well but I trust you. I know you will do your best." Pauline whispered. "It's...

Then came a fearful yowling from directly above him. It wasn't just a screeching now but something more-scratching on the shingles right over him. The painter (Panther, cougar, Mountain Lion, Puma...)was back- and hungry! Did she know he was here alone? The Buck Brothers // Chapter 11

SO... last time I put a chapter on, it ended with Luke getting a punch in the stomach. Remember? Now it's time to continue... Chapter 11 Foss went to kick Luke again but Pauline grabbed him around the legs, tripping him.  "Get out of here!" Foss yelled, pushing her off.  Pauline gasped as hands suddenly helped her to her feet. "I'll take care of this," said a familiar voice. Tex pull Foss up by the front of his shirt and smashed a fist into his face. Foss yelled in anger. Tex stepped back to get away from a wild punch and tripped on Foss's placed boot. Tex fell to the ground and before he could get up Foss charged.  Tex placed his elbows firmly on the ground and brought up his boots. They caught Foss in mid charge and sent him flying over Tex's head.  Sploosh! Foss landed in the stream. He scrambled to his feet and turned around glaring at Tex. Oh, God please help Tex! Pauline prayed, her back pressed against the ruff bark of a t...

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 10

Time Once again for a chapter of "The Buck Brothers!" Chapter 10 Tex rained in his horse and studied the county around him. No sign that anyone had been through there recently. Either Kid lied or all sign had been erased. Both were likely. Should he have let Hank and Kid go? If he didn't find any sign now, all could be lost. Tex rode on. It was possible they, who ever they were, had killed Luke already. That is want they wanted, wasn't it? The brothers dead. "Lord, please, protect my brother!" Tex prayed aloud. "Give him strength. Show me how to find him." >>>><<<< Pauline stared as the man came forwarded. He held up his hand and opened his mouth as if to say something. He stumbled and fell to his face. He put a hand under him as if trying to rise but fell again to the ground. This time he lay still. Pauline hesitated. Then she slid out of the saddle and ran to the man's side. She knelt down beside him. Caref...
