The Buck Brothers // Chapter 13

Time for Chapter 13. Guess what! There's only one more chapter after this!!! *hops up and down then cries* Chapter 13 Tex sat by Luke's side in silent prayer. He had been over and over the room, looking for a loose board or any other way out. He found none and even if he did find away out, Luke was to sick to move.  Tex turn at a quiet sob. Pauline had pulled her knees to her face and was crying quietly against them, rocking gently back and forth. Tex tried to think of something to say but couldn't find the words. So, he just reached out and patted her hand.  Pauline looked up and wiped her eyes on her selves. "I'm sorry. It just seams so... so..."  "I'm sorry you got dragged into this." Tex apologized. "I promise, I will try my hardest to get you out of here. God willing, I'll succeed."  "Thank you. I don't know you well but I trust you. I know you will do your best." Pauline whispered. "It's

Ragamuffin Dolls

Hey, everyone! Want to buy a doll? Kidding. You can't yet. *winks*  My sister Mikayla and I have been making these dolls.  We are hoping to start a Etsy shop and sell them once we're good enough. And then over time maybe add more to our shop, like purses, cute note books, maybe even skirts if we get good. But start small, right? So anyway, Mikayla made one of these one day and I did the face. We all thought it turned out cute and thought that perhaps we could sell them. We've made a pattern now so they will all be the same size and have been practicing making them. What do you think? We were using buttons for eyes but we wanted these to be baby friendly, and we like the look of embroidered eyes better, so now that's what we're doing. The doll's are about five inches tall, and perfect to be held by small hands. Each doll is unique so far. We make each one different and exciting. Different hair, eyes color, different clothes, you name it! So,

Book Reviews // Charley Skedaddle

Then came a fearful yowling from directly above him. It wasn't just a screeching now but something more-scratching on the shingles right over him. The painter (Panther, cougar, Mountain Lion, Puma...)was back- and hungry! Did she know he was here alone? Charley Skedaddle By Patricia Beatty I give this book Three stars Okay, so I gave a book three stars. The thing is... I liked the book but... well, I'll explain later. Plot: Charley Quinn was never scared  of a fight or to get his hands dirty, after all he's Bowery Boy. A member of one of the toughest gangs in New York City. After his brother is killed at Gettysburg, Charley vows revenge and enlists with the Union army as a drummer boy. But the horrors of war become a reality- and he sees his best friend killed- Charley is terrified.  He "skedaddles" from both the union army he deserted and the Confederates who arrest him as spy. Charley heads for the Blue Mountains. There he meets Granny Bent, an orne

The Buck Brothers// Chapter 12

Ready? Time for our story to continue! Chapter 12 "Mind if I ask you something?" Ben asked from across the table at Lady Marge's. "Not at all, Ben." Tom put down his small black Bible. "You and your brothers are always talking about God." Ben hesitated as if trying to find the right words. "I... Do you really believe all that stuff?" Tom nodded. "We do."  "I use to go to church," Ben said. "I left though. It didn't make seance to me. I mean, you have to do so much and be so perfect. It's impossible." "Your right." Tom nodded. Ben looked startled. "Huh? I don't get it. I thought..." "It is impossible. Without Jesus. No one can be perfect. God knows that. That's why he sent Jesus here to earth. To die for our sins. That way, we can be forgiven and live forever with God in heaven."  "I'm afraid I don't remember that much about the Bibl

Book Review // The Bucks of Goober Holler

He sprang it on Joe and Me about three o'clock Friday morning. I mean, not even the birds were awake yet! "I've got it! Wake up, guys!" Jake was hollering and jumping up and down on the bed, waving some papers around. The lights were on and I could see he had a wild grin on his face and a gleam in his black eyes. Joe woke up scared and tried to crawl under the covers. Jake ripped them off him and began shouting again, and we all fell off the bed. "Cut it out, Jake!" I shouted. "Have you gone crazy?" The Bucks of Goober Holler By Gilbert Morris I give this book five stars  Yep, my first five star review! It's more of a kid book but I liked/like it a lot! It's by Gilbert Morris, the Author of the " House of Winslow " series. Which I also enjoy. Perhaps I'll do a review on my favorite one sometime. Oh, and it's only a coincidence that they are called Bucks in this book. I didn't realize that they had the sam

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 11

SO... last time I put a chapter on, it ended with Luke getting a punch in the stomach. Remember? Now it's time to continue... Chapter 11 Foss went to kick Luke again but Pauline grabbed him around the legs, tripping him.  "Get out of here!" Foss yelled, pushing her off.  Pauline gasped as hands suddenly helped her to her feet. "I'll take care of this," said a familiar voice. Tex pull Foss up by the front of his shirt and smashed a fist into his face. Foss yelled in anger. Tex stepped back to get away from a wild punch and tripped on Foss's placed boot. Tex fell to the ground and before he could get up Foss charged.  Tex placed his elbows firmly on the ground and brought up his boots. They caught Foss in mid charge and sent him flying over Tex's head.  Sploosh! Foss landed in the stream. He scrambled to his feet and turned around glaring at Tex. Oh, God please help Tex! Pauline prayed, her back pressed against the ruff bark of a t

Memory a Month // July 2020

I thought it would be fun to share a memory a month. Once every month I will share a random picture with a short story about that time or just a short memo. Perhaps no picture at all but a story about a time I remember. Some stories might just be funny or happy memories while others might share life's lessons.  So here's my first one: Memory if the month // July 2020 Seance it's July, I went to the month of July 2016. I took this picture one day when I was dreaming of having a blog.*laughs* Yep. I used to dream of having a blog. Now I do! Picture Removed By Author Yes, that's me. Little Kid that I was. I was going to do a tour of my garden. And it was my garden. I planted it all myself that year. I planted, watered and cared for it. I think it had three rows. I don't remember for sure, but I think that only a few things grew... or actually produced anything but it was great fun. And I learned you have to take good care of your garden if you want anything to gr

The Buck Brothers // Chapter 10

Time Once again for a chapter of "The Buck Brothers!" Chapter 10 Tex rained in his horse and studied the county around him. No sign that anyone had been through there recently. Either Kid lied or all sign had been erased. Both were likely. Should he have let Hank and Kid go? If he didn't find any sign now, all could be lost. Tex rode on. It was possible they, who ever they were, had killed Luke already. That is want they wanted, wasn't it? The brothers dead. "Lord, please, protect my brother!" Tex prayed aloud. "Give him strength. Show me how to find him." >>>><<<< Pauline stared as the man came forwarded. He held up his hand and opened his mouth as if to say something. He stumbled and fell to his face. He put a hand under him as if trying to rise but fell again to the ground. This time he lay still. Pauline hesitated. Then she slid out of the saddle and ran to the man's side. She knelt down beside him. Caref

Book review // Second Watch

I sobbed. If only Papa were here to rescue us. John's arms went limp. "NO. I won't let you die!" Drawing him closer to me, I heard him moan and his tremors. "Em...preash," he said, slurring the word. "Shaara." Another Book review! This time I choose a more adult book. Second Watch By Karen Autio I give this book four stars I almost gave this book three stars but then it was so good I could almost give it five. I didn't because I cried so hard the first time I read it that I had to put the book down until I could see. But I didn't want to put it down because I wanted to keep reading... This book is a based on a true story about a ship that sunk about the same time as the Titanic. My family has always found it interesting because of our Finnish heritage. The story is about Saara, (Finnish for Sarah) and her family. The story starts a few months before they board the Empress of Ireland.   Plot: (Taken from back of Book) "E
