               The Importance of History

Hi all viewers! Glad you came! I figured I'd tell you why history's so important.


Reason 1: I think, this is the most important reason! If you know your history, you can see God's hand at work. So many thing could not have happened without God. Including the start of my beloved nation, The United States of America! In fact some of the signs of The Declaration of Independents said it was a "Miracle"! It's so amazing to see how god worked in peoples lives to change history.  God knows what is going to happen, and uses people like me and you to bring history the way he wants. So amazing, right?

Reason 2: If you know how people in the past had seceded or failed we will know what we should or should not do.

Reason 3: Not really a reason, just a personal point of view, but! History is just amazing! It so neat to see how different peoples lives were. How they believed. How they dressed. What they would eat! Everything!
  
          Now, a word about history books. The History book's they use in school today are quite boring, and don't tell us much. I'm not saying that the history book they use in schools are wrong, they just don't tell us much. Like Ned says in the audio book "Under Drake's Flag" by the Heirloom Audio Productions. Original book by G. A. Henty.  Ned says, "History is just dead men and dates!" Well, I used to think that way, until I started to study history much more in depth. Now I think much more like Gerald. He answers Ned by saying, " You have uttered sacrilege." Ned ~ "Have I?" Gerald ~ "History is the parade and pageantry of daring and decadents. Of dreams and defeat, brightening and britting the eons of time!" Ned ~ "Have you quite finished?" Gerald ~ "No, but that will do for now." *laughs* You should listen to it! It's great! Anyway I suggest you find history books based on original documents, or read the original documents yourself. There are many good history books, you just have to find them. *Wink* I read almost every history book I can get my hands on.

         I believe, the greatest history book of all is the Bible. It records the greatest event ever in history. How the Lord died on the cross to wash away our sins. How he conquered death, hell, and the devil. The bible tells us how to live, and how to treat others. And it tells that if we truly believe, and confess our sins, being truly sorry for our sins, we may be saved and have eternal life with the Lord God, in heaven. The most wonderful, WONDERFUL, history ever told.
